About the ARTIST

Daniel St-Amant, a native of the Eastern Townships in Melbourne, Quebec, has cultivated a remarkable ability to blend natural and urban elements in his artwork. His passion for artistic expression was ignited early on through experiences like camping, fishing, and photography, fostering a deep connection to the natural world. This early fascination led him to pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts at NSCAD University, following his foundational studies at Champlain College.

Immersed in NSCAD’s contemporary approach to art, Daniel was inspired to push the boundaries of traditional mediums. He adeptly incorporates a diverse array of materials, including mosses, dried flowers, sticks, stones, and crushed cement, to create pieces that are rich in texture and depth. Notably, Daniel’s artistry shines in his realistic depictions of creatures intertwined with urban elements such as graffiti and tire tracks, a poignant representation of the ongoing conflict between urbanization and nature.
